I studied Primary Education BA (Hons) at the University of Northampton, throughout the course I got to experience a variety of year groups on different placements. Many of these were with mixed age classes and I found that this was an aspect I particularly enjoyed as it allows for more immediate challenge and differentiation within the children’s work. I am the year one and two teacher at Ullesthorpe C of E and am excited to be starting and continuing my teaching journey here!
I enjoy all subjects but am especially passionate for English and art. I specialised in English on my degree and have always enjoyed the creative outlet it provides. Allowing the children the opportunity to be creative in their writing is something I see of high importance, as well as exploring different texts with the children to assist in creating a passion for reading. Art also enables the children to be exposed to different forms of creativity and have the opportunity to explore different materials and techniques to express themselves.
When I am not in school, I love to spend time with my family and friends. This also includes my two cats; I am truly a cat lady! In my spare time I also enjoy going for walks and taking little road trips to new, beautiful places. When I find the time, I do love to do art myself and I particularly enjoy painting!
