Ullesthorpe Church of England Primary School

Mrs Simpson - Office Manager

When I left school I trained as a Florist.  I worked throughout the UK installing large silk flower and plant displays in hotels, night clubs and conference centres. After a few years I met my husband and started working in a florist shop.  I love all things floral but funeral work was my passion.  I have created many bespoke funeral tributes from an allotment to a life size  Accordion.  It was always a privilege to be able to create a personalised tribute for someone’s a loved one.

Whilst our two daughters were young, I felt it was an ideal time to learn something new, so I signed up to evening class and learnt how to switch on a computer!  Couldn’t have been more different from my creative side!

I was lucky enough to secure a part-time admin role in a large primary school in Hinckley and continued to learn something new every day.  23 years on I consider myself to be very fortunate to still be working in a school.  Ullesthorpe Primary School has lovely staff, children and families.  My role involves wearing ‘many hats’, life in a school office is not just about permission slips and filing paperwork, you never quite know what will come along next…. Oh no, not another blocked toilet!!

My husband and I are very ‘hands on’ and have enjoyed renovating two houses.  We have spent two years helping our daughter bring back to life an old house in dire need of lots of TLC to say the least! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, our three dogs, decorating, sewing, upholstery and generally doing anything creative.
