Phonics at Ullesthorpe C of E Primary School
The teaching of reading and phonics at our school is based on the research and recommendations of the Rose Report in 2006, which outlined best practise in the teaching of phonics in schools. We teach phonics in line with the recommendations of the report, with a daily systematic phonics session for all children in FS and Key Stage 1.
How children progress with their phonic knowledge and skills is explained below. There are also some suggestions for helping your child learn phonics at home.
