Perseverance

Perseverance is the ability to keep going through all of life's ups and downs, no matter how may times we are knocked down. Perseverance is not only a Christian value, but also an essential characteristic of an effective learner. Some of our best learning comes from the mistakes we make. In fact, some would argue that very little in life that is worthwhile can be achieved without persevering. Struggling to be our best, and overcoming obstacles, may not be the hardship it first appears, but rather an opportunity to grow in character and spirit, and build a strong sense of self belief.

Hebrews 12.1-2: ‘Let us run with perseverance the race that lies before us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end.’

Children learn about Jesus who frequently encouraged his disciples to 'endure patiently' the difficulties and obstacles they encountered and to persevere in the face of adversity. He himself trusted in God to give him the strength to endure and persevere through the race of life.

Suki says: 'We all find lessons difficult but we should show perseverance'
