Ullesthorpe Church of England Primary School

Community

Belonging to a community means that we are not just an individual, separate from everyone else, but we are in a relationship with others. This Christian Value comes from a Greek word 'Koinonia' which means ‘that which is in common.' We all share in a fellowship with Jesus- he brings us together across the world in one big family.

Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!

John  13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another.

We think of our school as a family- we grow together, learn together, play together and shine our light for ourselves and eachother. As the children get older there are more frequent opportunities to take responsibility for others in our community as an act of service. PE Ambassadors, Wellbeing Ambassadors and Worship Leaders (among others) serve our school community by sharing their expertise and unique skills and personalities with the younger children.

Abigail says that: "In this school you will find games created by Sports Ambassadors, anyone can join in. You can join clubs: yoga, Choir, Eco-Committee, and nobody cares what you look like"
