Compassion

Compassion is about putting yourself in someone else’s shoes and experiencing what they experience. At Ullesthorpe we value the skill of empathy and consider it one of our 'superpowers'. When we understand others, it leads us to action and creates a desire to help.

We can show compassion at school, but also at home and abroad for those who need it most. We teach children that through their actions and their words, they can be the difference they wish to see in the world, and share in the fruits of a kind, compasionate society.

Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God has forgiven you.”

Children learn parables such as The Good Samaritan and the Lost Sheep. They study the life of Jesus and how he showed compassion for all who needed him.

Isaac says that we should: 'Show compassion to others and they will repay you more kindness than you provided them with'
