Ullesthorpe Church of England Primary School

Mr Gray - Year 1/2 teacher

I have been working in education for 7 years now, first as a teaching assistant before then training to become a teacher. I have experience of working with year groups across both KS1 and KS2.

Since beginning my journey with Inspiring Leader Primary Academy, I have a developed a keen interest in the subjects of Geography and History. I feel that it is vital for children to develop an understanding of the place that they live in through a combination of exploring past events that have helped shape the locality, as well as the present circumstances of where children live. I believe that, through this, children acquire a real sense of belonging to their local area, as well as an understanding of how they part of something bigger that they can contribute to.

In my free time, you will often find me with a ruby ball in hand. I am an avid rugby player and have been playing the sport since I was in primary school myself. It’s a hobby that I will always be passionate about. Aside from rugby, I enjoy going on long hikes where I get to explore new places- especially when I get to use a map and compass to find my way around. During holiday time, I like to go camping and go on lots of walks.
