Forgiveness is at the heart of Christian teaching, and clear to see in the character of God and Jesus. The Bible teaches us that forgiveness is more than just saying sorry. It is showing that we know what we have done wrong and that we will change our behaviour. This value underpins our school's behaviour policy of Restorative Justice, which allows everyone to share their feelings, repair the harm done and move forward positively with a better understanding of eachother.
Luke 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”
Through the stories of the Bible, we learn that being able to forgive is a sign of strength and courage. God will always forgive us, and sent his only son to Earth that we may be forgiven. In the same way, we should forgive others and find peace within ourselves. Jesus teaches us that forgiveness for others should be unlimited.
Regan says this means: 'Forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you'
